Abstract

Platelet rich fibrin is an auto-biomaterial originating from blood that releases several growth factors. This material has some ability to promote wound healing, growth and maturation of bone, stability of the graft material, wound closure and hemostasis after a bone graft. Platelet rich fibrin has been used for bone healing, regeneration of the tendons and cartilage in the field of not only oromaxillofacial surgery, but also otolaryngology, plastic surgery and orthopedics. In this study, a bone graft using a membrane after PRF compression was performed after implant installation in patients with a bony defect with satisfactory results. This paper reports this case with a review of the relevant literature.
